Happy Easter

Today is Easter. The first Easter in 26 years that I haven't put candy in easter baskets that my kids fixed up for the easter bunny. I did put candy in a community basket lined with easter grass. Still a bit different than years past. I don't know if it was because Easter came around so early this year, or because my kids are getting older and didn't mention dying eggs, or what. Anyway. Felicia (oldest daughter) called and wished us/me a happy easter, she was on her way to the in-laws for the day. I am glad she has her DH's family close by, since we are not. My grandbaby is due in Aug, hopefully I will get to see he/she (they don't know yet if it is a girl or boy) enough that it will know I am grandma.
Yesterday, was a day of cleaning. Jeff (DH) and I cleaned from top to bottom. Then he and DS went to the hardware store to get a few items needed to fix some areas. Last night we went out to eat at a local barbecue place, then to the store. Bottom line the family spent the entire day together. It was fun and full of laughter.

I have finished oldest daughters 'Lucy Bag' , I am now working on a scarf 'My so called
scarf'.
My knitting club met on Thursday night at Starbucks, and Mary pointed out why I was screwing up on my scarf- kudos to Mary.

There was a great picture in the KC Star paper in the Home section, it was a young woman holding a goat, the story was about her organic vegetable farmers market.
I would so love to have a place that I can have goats and chickens, a few Alpacas.
I am hanging on to that idea.

Jan 18th

It is snowing again today. Yesterday the kids had the day off due to snow/cold temperatures. The forecast today is flurries, with occasional heavy snow. I almost wish if were going to snow it would just snow big, and then be done, and it would be spring.
I live in the midwest though, so that will never happen.
Today, I ran errands which included getting my hair cut. It always feels so great to get your hair shampooed by someone else, and feels so much better when you get a cut.
One of the blogs I always read is the pioneer woman I love keeping up with what she is doing, and looking at her great pictures. Tonight I am making her lasagna recipe. Dana, my friend made the lasagna last night, her family loved it. Hopefully mine will too.

I will leave you with a picture my daughter took this morning at sunrise.
