December 31, 2016

Had a quiet New Years Eve night. Jeff was at work, so that left me and the dogs! I watched reruns of Downton Abbey, and finished the slouchy hat. Not sure who will get it. The yarn was from a friend who purchased it in Philadelphia while on a business trip.

I am on call tomorrow, hoping to not get called in. Keep your fingers crossed!!

Winter 2014

Since my last writing......time has quickly passed and we find ourselves in 2014. I have started and finished some knitting projects. The alpaca cape I finally finished and gave it to Felicia. I also knitted a couple really cool cowls that I gave to Felicia and my niece Becky. I also took a weaving class for a double weave blanket that was absolutely wonderful. Got me back into the weaving fever. I have signed up for another class called Warping front to back and another that will teach me how to weave on a rigid heddle loom. The warping class is Feb 22, looking forward to that.

I started back to school last year,  so much of my time is spent on homework. The time frame for finishing school should fall to the end of this year. I will then have my BSN (Bachelors of Science in Nursing). Haven't decided if I will go on for a Masters.
I would rather take more weaving classes!!!

Weather wise here, we are covered in snow and the temps are in the single digits at night. Way too cold for this chick. I need warm weather year round!

Here is a pic of my double weave blanket while on the loom. Pretty colors.

Geez

Wow, long long time since I last posted.  I was reading thru some of the older posts and can report the sweater never got finished. I am saving the yarn for various projects, ie fingerless gloves (which I have already used some of the yarn for).
It is now Spring almost summer, the temps say summer and have for a while now. I am afraid that based on the extremely mild winter we had our summer may be intolerable with heat.

On the knitting front, I am currently working on an Alpaca Cape. I almost had the second half completed, but had to rip it out this afternoon, I made a mistake and as hard as I tried, I was unable to make it right. So.......rippit

Snow day

It is a snow day. I am working today, but the kids didn't have school.

Snow day

Another day of snow. The prediction is 7-9", we might see it. I looked back at a post in Jan of 2010, Jeff was out shoveling the driveway. He has been out doing that same thing 2 or 3 times already tonight. I have to work tomorrow, so he is trying to make it easier for me to get out to the street. We'll see. The snow plows usually make a path thru and block the drive doing so.
Here is a picture of the back yard. The fox we see almost daily. Sometimes there are two.

Stay warm!!!

Sunday Jan 16th

Yesterday was spent cleaning and organizing the basement, the unfinished area that runs amuck most the time. I had to fix the amuck.  I almost am done, today, I need to sweep up the floor and do a few finishing touches. I relocated some fragrance oils I will need for the next batches of soap.
Today, I have sorted thru my drawer of mail and bills, and am getting ready to work on online bills/paperwork. Someone has to do it, and I like doing it, so it has fallen to me.
It's a good day. Dreary outside, but hopefully it will pass.

Stay warm.

Dec 14th, 2010

Wow. Almost a year since the last post. We have been thru the rest of winter 2010, spring, summer, fall and now the winter again. There is snow on the ground, not much, just residual from the other day. It is so cold though, we have single digits. I hate cold weather, especially single digits. The sun comes in and out of the clouds, very sneaky because when it is out it seems it should be warm. It isn't.
11 days til Christmas. I have some gifts purchased, but not all and none wrapped. After my workout today, Jeff and I are will go do a bit of shopping, we need to get Emma's package in the mail. Rest of the kids and grandson will be in Springfield for Christmas, so we will give them their presents then. I am not sure if Canaan and Hannah will want to open up presents at home before we leave or wait and open them on Christmas eve or Christmas morning. The stockings will wait til Christmas morning this I know for sure.
Tonight is the knitting group get together, we are going to Pot Pie. I think I am the only one who has eaten there. It will be a good time.
I really am loving my life. It is the year /life of Pam.
